MerrY ChristmaS~!

Before I start my new post... Merry Christmas at ALL!!!

No matter you are Christian, Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist or whatever.... just immerse yourself in the year end festive season! And before you know it, New Year is here and of course my favourite Chinese New Year will be around the corner.

This week is mad! haha clubbed twice in a week and got drunk 3 times!!! ( thanks to all my beloved Alpha Platoon 1 people and my pilot trainees..) Feeling very sinful now as I have always viewed clubbing as one of the vices? But Dj is only back for 2 weeks so must make full use of the time to celebrate Christmas and catch up with him at the same time. And clubbing has always been the common activity since we left college! Haha we need some healthier stuff man.. maybe wakeboarding?

Wednesday was rather wasted. Got drunk even before I got to the dance floor.... sian... Next time if mambo, better be there before 9pm otherwise it will be so crowded! But met a lot of people over there, haha clubbing is like college gathering man..

Saturday at Phuture.. Met Fiona Xie! She's really one petite girl. I think not even my shoulder height? haha but definitely a beauty! We were stunned by her sharp features and new fashion sense (*hint hint).. too bad we din have a photo with her =( Oh Zurong sorta met his "love at first sight" too! But sadly, the coward didn't even dare to ask for her phone number and name. Bro, next week try your luck again lo! She looked like a frequent clubber to me haha. Jiayou! Well as for Dj, this is one of the few times he's so well behaved. Must be MJ's love! Jiayou too.. all you need is... Love Actually.

BBQ at Gek Cher's house later... pls don't rain anymore!

reLax from Samui

Yo I'm back!!!

4 days of total relaxation and fun just flew past.. wish that time could pause for me.

Ko Samui is a very slowwwww paaaaceee island. Being separated from the city buzz and stressful work never felt better~! For once, I believe all the junior gunners were suntanning in peace without having to think about any work or tasking from unit.

Conversation was temporary back to work on the 1st day in Samui. Apparently, we are not very used to not working? But soon Shimon put it to an end.

Jieren: Yah man the work we do is more than what we are paid for! . . . . .
Shimon: Oei! Stop talking about 160 la!!!

The village that we lived in was fantastic!! They were little huts dispersed in the jungle and the interior decoration was damn stylish and romantic! (too bad I'm single and my roommate was BONG!)

The Love Nest
What a romantic setting for 2 guys.. =|

But soon we realised the resort version of it was nicer! With lots more facilities and a nicer beach.. damn it we should have paid that $200 more.

Samui was all about letting our hair down and enjoy the scenery. Sunset and sunrise by the beach was fantastic. For the first time, I really saw the sun rise and set from the sea horizon. The sun formed waves of ray, completing the sun rays in the skies. The moment was so serene and calm, as though everything halted for it.

Steps to the horizon

The six of us also feasted away from the healthy regime. With food volleying non-stop at us! A buffet where you are served instead of having to go around. And of course Shimon was damn happy that for once, we didn't ask him to cut down on eating! It is a holiday!!

Satisfied Shimon =)
Our Buffet-Man
When you can't beat them, EAT THEM!

There was minimal shopping in Samui and the price was kinda steep for most of the stuff. Only bought a sunglasses and a pair of socks. But the ride back to village from town was damn thrilling! I have never travelled so fast on a pick-up in a crowded town!

Hanging precariously behind the pick-up
Trying to act like they are not scared.

So much fun to travel with the guys! Though Jeremy may not join us for anytime soon because he going to Australia for studies soon. Hey Wei Mei, don't forget us man!

mY last with 160 SQN

Yup... in a few days time I will be leaving 160 SQN, proceeding to AFS to begin the new journey of my everchanging career in the RSAF. I would miss the good people there and the great times we shared! Of course not forgetting my platoon... Alpha One! you guys really showed me how hard it is to be a platoon commander and also showed me how satisfying it can be being a good officer too!

Hope that under the new command of LTA Alvin, you guys will soar to greater heights and ORD with lasting pride! Will visit you all whenever I can, don't worry!

Ko Samui will be on Sunday!!! So exciting! haha one of the few times when I go overseas without my family. I heard that a hurricane is heading there too? Better begone when I get there!!! I don't want to spend my time playing cards there.... =(

Oh I am still very proud about the 42.195km!! haha And Marathons-Photos made it better by taking my pictures~!! Too bad I can't paste the picture here because it is copyrighted... but you guys can go to this link!

In the photo, I was already near the finishing line and looking happy to see the end point with all the supporters! (dunno whether are they cheering for me though? haha)

It's only 4219500 centimetres!

Wooohooo!!!

I completed the longest marathon in my life (by far.)!!! haha feeling proud and satisfied!

The final 10km was the most gruelling thing I had done this year. The breathing and weather were good BUT the body was repelling already... threatening to cramp for every step I take.

The marathon was fun and meaningful nonetheless!

These are the few things only the finishers will understand:

1. Kenyans have no lungs.
2. The heat when 9000 runners gather at the start point.
3. East Coast Park's 1 km seems longer than anywhere else.
4. Powergel really helps.
5. Run-spirators are very important during the journey, because cheering keeps you going.
6. Adidas volunteers are all very young and pretty =)
7. Deep heat cream is very precious.
8. Cramps can actually be run off.
9. The lost of control over the legs and can't stop jogging.

Lastly.... 10. The high of completing 42.195km.

I guess once in a while, you need to do something amazing and incredible to reaffirm yourself! Feel good and sure about yourself with this kind of small small indicators like 42.195km. Next year maybe? =)

Now is the after effects. My 2 poor legs are aching like mad now... I need someone to massage them for me!!! And to make it more challenging, tomorrow I will going outfield!! diao... hope I can survive well for the next 2 days.

Will post the photos when I'm feeling less aching. haha. need to stretch now! *Ouch**
